THE NEED

In contemporary trade, the need to assure and safely deliver high quality food is constantly increasing due to:

– the contemporary consumer who demands higher quality food while having broad access to relevant information

– the complexity of legislation per trade zone and country regarding chemical parameters and related limits, as well the rules concerning the labeling and distribution of high quality food

– the globalisation of markets that bring many competing products on the consumer’s shelf

Such need can only be met with the choice of partners that are able to ensure high standards at all stages of production and distribution of high quality food.

THE KNOWLEDGE

For several decades we have been partners of producers, dealers and bottlers in conducting chemical analysis and on consulting in products’ quality & standards. As a result, we have the capacity to appropriately segment the region of Messinia in different zones according to the quality characteristics of its products (olives – olive oil – wine).

Additionally, our large database of chemical analysis data provides sound statistical results on the zones that consistently feature high quality characteristics per product (olives – olive oil – wine).

Moreover, day-to-day contact with local producers gives us “on-the-field” knowledge of the climate conditions in each location (microclimate) during the growing season and its impact on the quality of the resulting end-product.

Finally, communication with relevant bodies allows us to have the appropriate information on diseases developed by region and product, on any plant protection and spraying actions, and possible local interventions that may have led to degradation of quality characteristics.

THE REGION

Kalamata – Messinia – Greece – Europe

The region produces higher quality food (olive oil, figs, raisins, wine), and has a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO Kalamata) patent for both the famous extra virgin olive oil and the delicious Kalamata olives. Other local high quality products are also due to be considered as PDO.
